Please don't pimp Acton. They're fundamentally Randian and I have seen a number of people's Christianity grossly distorted and even destroyed by swimming too deeply in their ideology.

Thanks for the head's-up. I'll keep my eye out for the warning signs (by Randian, I assume you don't mean the warnings about totalitarianism, but rather its anti-Christian "objectivism"). You may remember that I recently shared my distress regarding the willingness of some Christians to accept Rand's selfish and bitter nonsense.

Forgetting Rand for a second, I do admire the libertarian spirit, but regret that its advocates so often focuses on politics/policies rather than on the building up of local Christian communities and culture.

I admire libertarianism of the freeman/subsidiarist sort as well, but think that type tends to be corrupted by the individualists once the libertarian label is accepted. As for Acton--and this is anecdotal, of course--every one of the young people I know who have been through the Acton University program, a dozen or so over as many years, came home singing the praises of Rand and the first thing each of them did was read Atlas. Some saw it for what it is and quickly drifted away but others became convinced disciples.
